MANILA --- Korina Sanchez has not been appearing as anchor of ABS-CBN’s "TV Patrol" since early this week. Ces Drilon has been pinch-hitting for her.
Could it be true that Korina has tendered her resignation to ABS-CBN in the wake of a top-to-bottom revamp of the ABS-CBN’s primetime news program? The reformatting, according to sources, was called for after the ratings of the show dipped to an all-time low since September. "TV Patrol" used to be the "unbeatable" show of ABS-CBN even after GMA has waged a war on the ratings game against them. But as it is, GMA is now the country’s No. 1 network and "TV Patrol" has lagged far behind the figures set by "24 Oras" anchored by Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco.
We couldn’t ascertain the other details of the "TV Patrol" reformat except for the fact that it will take effect on Nov. 15, as calls made to ABS to confirm this bit of news was not immediately returned. However, we heard from the grapevine that Ted Failon will take the place of Erwin Tulfo. The same source said Ted might be joined by another lady anchor, most possibly Karen Davila.
I guess, we’ll know all of the details on Nov. 15, when the new "TV Patrol" starts airing.
We tried to confirm from Karen’s camp this part of the story but we were told that Karen has not received any calls whatsoever offering her the post.
As to the news that Korina has already been talking to executives of GMA-7, we were also told that Korina had informed a GMA executive that she has already called a colleague in the newspaper denying that there ever was any negotiation.
GMA feels it is not right to comment on the issue anymore as Korina herself has already denied any negotiations for her alleged transfer.

MANILA --- Angelica Panganiban is ripe for stardom. After headlining a soap opera with Piolo Pascual, the young actress will now be launched via the much-anticipated movie “Santa Santita” under Unitel Productions.
Directed by Laurice Guillen, the movie will showcase a very different Angelica. “It has a love scene with Jericho Rosales,” Angelica shares. “It was nerve-racking to do, but direk Laurice and Echo were there to guide me. They were very open, and I’ve learned so much from them.”
Besides the opening of her movie on Nov. 17, Angelica is also excited about her upcoming debut which will be held at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel on Nov. 6. Her escort will be Piolo. Why not Jericho, or former beau Carlo Aquino? “Piolo offered early on to be my escort in my debut,” she says.
“Even when I had yet to plan one, Piolo already kept telling me, ‘I’ll be your escort ha!’ So I promised him that he will be my escort.”
How does she rate Jericho and Piolo as co-stars? Who’s better? “No one’s better than the other. Both are very talented and, at the same time, they’re very different from each other,” says Angelica. “Piolo is very serious. He’s my church mate in Victory and we always talk about serious stuff. He’s the person I run to when I have problems. Jericho, on the other hand, is very funny. Makulit. I enjoy working with him because he never fails to make me laugh.”
Angelica is very busy these days. The ABS-CBN Talent Center (Star Magic) artist will be seen in different TV shows and soon start shooting for “Mano Po 3” under Regal Films.
She confesses that she doesn’t have any time for love right now. Reportedly, there’s a politician old enough to be her dad who keeps pestering her. “They shower me with attention but as of now, I don’t entertain them,” she says firmly. “I’d rather concentrate on my career.” (MNS)

MANILA --- KC Concepcion is said to be amused by reports that she has broken up with her alleged European boyfriend named Hugo, who is 27 years old while KC is only 19.
KC met Hugo in a restaurant in Paris and he was immediately smitten by her so he made the first move to be introduced to her. When KC came home to Manila for a vacation a few months ago, Hugo followed her to show how much he adores her and she took him with her when she went to watch a fashion show. Some press people saw them there and quickly jumped to the conclusion that he’s her boyfriend. But now, they are reporting that they have split up.
“How can we break up when we were never really on?” KC told a friend. “Never akong nagkaroon ng commitment with him because I never felt that I am head over heels in love with him. Makikipag-on lang ako with a guy na ang feeling ko, my life won’t go on without him. And so far, I have yet to meet a guy who’d make me feel that way.” (MNS)
